ABOUT OUR FARMS

Sinking Creek Farm and Olde Homestead Farm are located in Botetourt County outside of historic Fincastle, Virginia in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The original farm was purchased in 1951 by the James H. Webb family from Payson, Utah. The farm was passed down in 1994 to two daughters, Carol Bernstein and Judy Sanders, who retained the land adding horse barns, run-ins, a riding ring, and miles of horse trails.

Carol Bernstein is the owner of Sinking Creek Farm and Judy and Russell Sanders own Olde Homestead Farm. Both farms are located in Botetourt County outside of historic Fincastle, Virginia in the Blue Ridge Mountains. We are about a 45 minute drive from Roanoke, Virginia. Visitors are always welcome. Call or e-mail for directions.

Our goal is to raise Miniature Horses & Donkeys with excellent conformation, beautiful color, and friendly dispositions. Our herd size is limited so that we can give every horse and donkey individual care and lots of daily grooming and attention, including hugs and kisses, which they love.
All of our horses & donkeys receive vaccinations in the spring which include West Nile Virus, Rabies, Tetanus, Potomic and a 5-way vaccine which consists of Respiratory Rhinopneumonitis, EHV 1 & 4, E & W Encephalomyelitis, A1 & A2 Influenza. Daily supplements are added to food. All receive regular dental care. Hoofs are trimmed every 8 weeks by a certified farrier and they are also on an 8 week de-worming schedule.

Our foals are all imprinted shortly after birth.
Foals are weaned between the ages of 4 and
5 months at which time they can go to their
new homes.

All of our Horses are registered with AMHA. Donkeys are registered with the Miniature Donkey Registry, ADMS.

AMADEUS

The pugs at Sinking Creek and Olde Homestead Farm are the main greeting party as you drive up the drive to the main house. Our females, Mei Ling, Shu Fang, and Kuan Yin, and our male, Ho Tei Lei, romp and play the days away in their private yard.

Pugs enjoy lots of attention, love people, especially children, and are quite adept at choosing cats as their best friend!

Annie was born on April 24, 2009. She is a Golden Doodle born in Blacksburg, Virginia at Laurel Ridge Golden Doodles.
